Dicle Adrianna Amara is not a name that everyone immediately recognizes, but she is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures behind the scenes of the Dutch music industry. Known as an undercover vocal coach for top-tier artists, she has earned the trust of some of the biggest names in the business. But Dicle’s talents and impact stretch beyond just vocal coaching. Recently, she made waves in the fitness world by opening her very own Pilates studio – a space exclusively for women, and notably, one that is hijab-friendly.

In less than a year, Dicle received the prestigious award for Best Vocal School for Professionals in Europe, a testament to her dedication and expertise in nurturing vocal talent. But it’s her latest venture, Pilates for Her, which has garnered the most attention. Located in the heart of the Pijp district in Amsterdam, this is the first-ever Pilates studio designed specifically for women, offering a space where women of all backgrounds can come together to build strength and embrace their bodies – regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds.

What sets Pilates for Her apart is its commitment to inclusivity. The studio is designed with the unique needs of women in mind, including offering a welcoming environment for hijabi women who may have previously felt uncomfortable at traditional fitness centers. As Dicle explains, this concept came from a deep understanding of the diverse needs of women who often struggle to find spaces where they can feel truly themselves, without judgment or discomfort.

Overcoming Racism and the Power of Self-Expression

Opening a women-only Pilates studio in a city as diverse and progressive as Amsterdam may seem like a bold move, but Dicle has faced challenges that many may not have anticipated. Despite the overwhelming support she’s received, she has also encountered negative reactions, including racist and discriminatory comments online.

“There were people saying things like, ‘A Pilates studio for hijabis isn’t necessary,’ and ‘This doesn’t belong here,’” Dicle shares. “Some even questioned, ‘Why only for women?’ and accused me of being ‘over the top.’”

At first, these comments were difficult for Dicle to process. As a sensitive person who typically avoids putting herself in the public eye, this was her first time dealing with such personal and hurtful remarks. “I felt deeply saddened by it,” she admits. “I don’t post much about myself online, and when these comments started, it felt like a direct attack. It was painful because I had never faced racism in such a personal way before.”

But instead of allowing the negativity to hinder her, Dicle used it as fuel for even greater determination. “At first, it was hard to deal with, but now, I find motivation in it. It drives me to push harder and build my studio even more. I stand for women’s rights and equal rights for all. The definition of freedom is different for every woman, and that’s something we must respect.”

Empowerment Through Fitness and Community

Pilates for Her is more than just a fitness studio. It’s a safe space where women can gather, connect, and grow stronger – both physically and mentally. Whether they are looking to improve their physical health, manage stress, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of other women, Dicle’s studio offers a supportive and non-judgmental environment for all.

The studio is not just about fitness; it’s about empowerment. For Dicle, the idea of creating a space where women could feel comfortable in their own skin, free from the constraints of societal expectations, was a driving force behind the studio. “Time to stop criticizing each other,” she says. “We need to give each other the freedom to be who we are. What freedom means is different for every woman, and that’s okay. We all get to decide that for ourselves.”

In the face of adversity, Dicle has shown incredible resilience, proving that the power of love, compassion, and the pursuit of personal freedom can overcome any challenge. Her Pilates studio is a manifestation of this belief – a place where women are celebrated, supported, and encouraged to thrive in their own way.

As Pilates for Her continues to grow, Dicle’s message of unity, inclusivity, and self-determination resonates more than ever. For her, the most important thing is that every woman, regardless of her background, can walk into the studio feeling seen, heard, and respected. And perhaps most importantly, they leave feeling stronger, inside and out.

Dicle Adrianna Amara may have started as a vocal coach behind the scenes, but today, she’s making her voice heard in an entirely new way – by empowering women, breaking down barriers, and creating spaces where freedom and self-expression are at the heart of everything.
